Chester River
Kayak Adventures

has several fascinating
environmental tours
to choose from.
and...

Check out our special
mini-weekend and midweek rates!

Your tour with CRKA is more an eco-tour than an athletic event. We're more interested in the journey and observing the creatures along the way than we are in who arrives first. Don't worry, you won't be called upon to do eskimo-rolls! Our goal is to keep you in the boat and out of the water (unless, of course, you want to be in the water. If you really want to learn the eskimo roll, check out our classes.).

Each half-day tour averages three hours and includes at least
one or two landings to check out secluded beaches.

Half-day trips can be arranged for morning or afternoon
and include a light snack.

Time available (morning) 9:30 am -1 pm
Time available (afternoon) are 1:30 pm - 5:30 PM
(Group minimum - 4 paddlers)

Half-day trip costs are $50.00 per adult, $40.00 per child 10 yrs old and above.

Paddling Areas

Paddling with CRKA you'll ply the gentle tidal waters of the Chester River (a major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay) an area that offers some of the finest uncluttered paddling to be found in the Middle Atlantic Region. You'll paddle in protected creeks and coves, passing through broad stretches of undeveloped tidal land with thick forests and cornfields reaching to the water's edge.

The local waters are a naturalists paradise with osprey, herons, bald eagles, swans, and in the fall, huge numbers of migrating waterfowl (arriving here for the winter!). You may catch a glimpse of the elusive Delmarva Fox Squirrel or the playful river otters on Eastern Neck Island. In addition, you learn of the diverse marine life that inhabits the country's largest estuary.

Only two hours from Washington or Philadelphia, the Chester River is closer than you think yet is a world apart. It offers a quiet respite from job stress and a chance to get in touch with natural tidal rhythms. In short, it refreshes the human spirit.
